![]() ![]() Cousy had his best season yet, averaging 20.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game while winning the NBA MVP Award for the first and only time in his career. That all changed after the 1956 NBA draft when Boston added the services of K.C. That reluctance was short-lived, though, as Cooz helped the Celtics improve to a 39-30 record during his rookie season while averaging 15.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game.
